The Solopreneur Finance Tracker: Know What Every Income Stream Actually Earns You
You know money came in last month. You cannot say which offer brought it, or how much of it you kept.
The Solopreneur Finance Tracker was created for digital product sellers, print on demand shop owners, coaches, and freelancers who run more than one income stream and have never seen them side by side.
Your money lives in four places. Etsy holds one number, Stripe holds another, your shop dashboard holds a third, and your bank holds a total that explains none of it. Adding those up is a Sunday night job, so most months it does not happen.
So you go on feel. You feel like the shop is doing well. You feel like the ads are working. You feel like this year is better than last year.
Feel is expensive. It is how someone spends another six months pouring energy into the offer that earns the least, while the one quietly paying the bills gets ignored.
No more adding up four payout dashboards on a Sunday night. No more wondering whether the ad spend paid for itself. No more finding out in December what you spent in June. No more starting a fresh spreadsheet every January because the last one fell apart in March.
Just log it once and the rest fills itself in.
š What You Get
An eight tab Excel workbook that turns three simple logs into a full picture of your business.
- Income Log. One row per payment. Date, which stream, gross amount, platform fees. Your net gets calculated for you. Room for 1,000 entries.
- Expense Log. One row per purchase. Date, category, vendor, amount, whether you kept the receipt. Room for 1,000 entries.
- Mileage Log. Date, distance, and why you drove. Every trip is valued at the rate you set. Room for 400 entries.
- Dashboard. Net revenue, expenses, profit and margin for any month you pick, plus the same four numbers for the whole year. Goal progress bars for revenue and recurring income.
- Monthly Summary. A twelve month profit and loss statement, then revenue broken out by stream by month, then expenses broken out by category by month.
- MRR Tracker. Up to six recurring offers, your member count for each, and your monthly recurring revenue measured against your goal.
- Setup tab. Name up to 20 revenue streams and 40 expense categories once. Every dropdown in the workbook fills itself from there.
- Start Here tab. Six steps, a color key, and the two habits that keep the numbers honest.
Every dropdown is already built. Every formula is already written. You never type a number twice.
š The Dashboard That Moves With One Cell
There is one cell at the top of the Dashboard where you type a month.
Change it, and the whole view moves. Net revenue, expenses, profit, margin and recurring revenue all jump to that month. You can go from March to July in one keystroke and see exactly what changed between them.
Underneath that sits the part most people never build for themselves. Your top earning stream for the year, with the number beside it. Your biggest expense category. Your average monthly profit. Your business miles.
Those four lines answer questions that usually take an hour of digging.
š The Recurring Revenue Tracker
Launch income feels incredible and then it is gone, and you start the next month from zero.
Recurring income is the floor you do not have to rebuild. The MRR Tracker holds up to six recurring offers, the price of each, and how many members each one has month by month. It multiplies them out, compares the total to the goal you set, and draws a progress bar so you can see the gap without doing the arithmetic.
Watch that number move for six months and you will make very different decisions about what to build next.
š„ Why You'll Love It
Most people track their business by checking a payout screen, feeling good or bad about the number, and closing the tab. That is not tracking. That is a mood.
With this you can:
- Say which offer earns the most and which earns the least, with a number behind both
- See what you actually kept after platform fees took their cut
- Compare any two months side by side in one keystroke
- Catch a losing month while it is happening instead of six months later
- Watch your recurring revenue climb toward a goal you set
- Know your profit margin without opening a calculator
- Hand someone a clean twelve month profit and loss statement whenever you need one
š” The Thing Nobody Tells You
Your last tracker did not fail because you lack discipline.
It failed because it asked you to type the same number in three different places. Once in the revenue tab, once in the monthly tab, once in the summary. Entry cost more than the answer was worth, so you stopped, and by March the sheet was a museum piece.
This one has three places to type and everything else calculates. That single design choice is the difference between a tracker you use in October and one you abandon in March.
⨠Already Filled In
The workbook arrives with three months of sample data from a fictional print on demand studio, so you can see every tab working before you touch it.
The sample has a losing month in it on purpose. March runs at negative $997, because a new laptop and a bigger ad push landed in the same four weeks. Revenue looked fine. Profit did not.
That is the whole reason the tool exists, sitting right there in the example. When you are ready, the notes tell you exactly which rows to delete.
š How to Use It
Download the file after checkout.
For Excel, open it and start on the Setup tab. For Google Sheets, upload the file to your Google Drive, right click it, and choose Open with Google Sheets. Every formula, dropdown and progress bar carries across.
Name your revenue streams on Setup, then log your first payment. The Dashboard fills in on its own.
